NCIS technician performing seasonal HVAC maintenance during a Comfort Club visit.
Comfort Club · Preventative Maintenance

The furnace that fails is usually the one nobody's looked at in five years.

The Comfort Club is two licensed NCIS maintenance visits a year, spring and fall, that catch the small problems before they become the 2am emergency. Three membership tiers, priced per system, with the first year free on every new NCIS install.

Overview

Most HVAC emergencies aren't random. They're the result of a small problem, a worn capacitor, a dirty flame sensor, a condensate drain that's been slowly clogging, that nobody caught because nobody was looking. By the time the system stops working, the problem has been building for months, and it picks the worst moment to surface: the first cold snap in November, the hottest week of August, a holiday weekend.

The Comfort Club is how you get ahead of that. Two visits a year, spring and fall, where a licensed NCIS technician goes through your heating and cooling system before the season that depends on it. Not a quick look. A real inspection, with documented findings, a safety check, a fresh filter, and a clear answer to the question every homeowner eventually asks: is this system going to make it through another winter?

Members also go to the front of the scheduling queue when something does come up, and at Silver and Gold there's a 10% discount on service labor. For homeowners who've been burned by surprise repair bills and contractors who don't call back, that's not a small thing.

What's Included

Two real inspections, not a quick look.

Every tier, Bronze, Silver, and Gold, includes the same two core visits, each a licensed, documented inspection. Spring before cooling season, fall before the furnace has to work.

Spring Cooling Maintenance

March – May, before summer
  • Verify the thermostat is reading and responding correctly
  • Start the cooling system and check startup and shutdown sequences
  • Inspect the outdoor condenser: wiring, capacitor, contactor, fan motor, fan blade
  • Inspect and clean the outdoor coil if needed
  • Inspect the indoor blower motor, blower wheel, and evaporator coil
  • Check refrigerant lines and insulation for condition
  • Replace the standard 1" air filter
  • Inspect the condensate drain pan and verify drain flow
  • Measure temperature drop across the coil and blower motor amperage
  • Document system condition and note any concerns in writing

Fall Heating Maintenance

September – November, before winter
  • Start the furnace and verify the full ignition sequence
  • Inspect electrical wiring connections and blower motor
  • Clean the blower wheel if needed
  • Inspect burners and flame pattern
  • Clean the flame sensor
  • Inspect the heat exchanger for visible damage or deterioration
  • Check gas piping for leaks and verify gas manifold pressure
  • Inspect exhaust vent piping and confirm it's clear and secured
  • Inspect the condensate trap and drain, replace the 1" air filter
  • Run a full carbon monoxide safety check, document findings

The Safety Inspection (Both Visits)

  • Electrical wiring and connections, voltage and amperage in range
  • Burners, ignition system, and heat exchanger condition
  • Gas piping and supply connections
  • Exhaust vent piping for damage, obstruction, or slope
  • Combustion air supply and return air conditions
  • Carbon monoxide safety verification

A furnace that's running isn't always a furnace that's running safely. The heat exchanger inspection alone, which checks for cracks that can let combustion gases into the living space, is worth the visit.

Good to Know

How membership actually works.

01

First year free with a new install

Every new HVAC system installed by NCIS includes the first year of Comfort Club at no charge, both seasonal visits, the safety inspection, and filter replacement, so your manufacturer warranty stays valid from day one.

02

The Gold loyalty credit

Gold members earn $100 in credit every active year, accumulating up to $500, toward a future HVAC replacement with NCIS. It doesn't expire. Five years on Gold is $500 toward your next system before you've made a single call.

03

What priority scheduling means

Members go ahead of non-members in the queue. During the busiest summer and winter stretches, when non-member wait times stretch out, you're not at the back of a long list. Gold adds priority emergency scheduling for urgent calls.

04

What the discount covers

The 10% labor discount applies to service calls and repairs on the covered system: capacitors, blower motors, flame sensors, and the like. It doesn't apply to full equipment replacement, and we'll always tell you which situation you're in first.

05

More than one system

Memberships are per system. A second system, or a mini-split alongside a main unit, enrolls at 20% off the same tier. Example at Silver: $340 + $272 = $612 a year for two systems.

06

How scheduling works

Spring visits run March through May, with a goal of finishing by June 1; fall visits run September through November. You'll get a reminder before each appointment, and the office batches visits by area to keep wait times down.

Comfort Club FAQs

Questions we hear most often.

What counts as one system?

A furnace and central air conditioner together count as one system. A heat pump system counts as one. A boiler counts as one. A geothermal system counts as one. If your home has two separate HVAC systems serving different zones, each requires its own membership, with a 20% discount on the second enrollment and beyond.

What if I enroll mid-year?

You'll receive whichever seasonal visit is coming up next and the one that follows. The membership year runs from your enrollment date and renews on that date annually. If you enroll in July, your first visit is the fall heating maintenance, and your spring cooling visit follows in the next spring window.

Does the discount apply to emergency calls?

Silver and Gold members receive no overtime labor charges on HVAC service calls, so after-hours and weekend calls are billed at the standard rate. The 10% service labor discount applies to the repair work on the covered system. Both benefits apply to unscheduled service calls, not just the two seasonal visits.

Can I enroll during a service call?

Yes. If a technician is at your home for a repair and you'd like to enroll at Silver or Gold, the 10% discount can be applied to that repair once membership is paid. The repair doesn't count as one of your two annual maintenance visits, so you'll still receive both the spring and fall visit during your membership year.

What if my system is older? Is maintenance still worth it?

For older systems, maintenance is often worth more, not less. A system that's 12 or 15 years old benefits from close attention, because that's when small developing problems are most likely to turn into failures. Regular maintenance also gives our technicians a documented picture of the system over time, so when the replacement conversation comes up, it's based on findings rather than a guess.

Does maintenance keep the manufacturer warranty valid?

Most HVAC manufacturer warranties require documented annual maintenance to remain in effect. Skipping service doesn't just risk the equipment, it can void the coverage you paid for. Comfort Club visits are documented and can serve as that maintenance record.

What's the difference between priority scheduling and priority emergency scheduling?

Priority scheduling, available at all three tiers, means you're placed ahead of non-members in the standard service queue. Priority emergency scheduling, available at Gold, is a higher level of placement for urgent situations, where your call moves to the front regardless of what else is on the schedule.

How do I enroll?

Call us. We'll go over which tier makes sense for your situation, confirm the number of systems in your home, and get you set up. Enrollment takes a few minutes, and we'll schedule your first visit once membership is confirmed.
